Dislocated

Immediately after "The Continuation of War", Yanagi and Inui finally get around to talking about how they parted. Drama With Romance, I-4

He had read descriptions of how it felt to have a dislocated joint realigned, and, from what he recalled, it sounded remarkably like what he had felt this afternoon: a sharp pain accompanied by a hard wrench and a sudden feeling of rightness.

It sounds odd to say this, but this fic feels almost as much like a fic about the Triumvirate as it does a fic about Inui and Yanagi.

Maybe that's just my sickness-addled brain talking, though.

Oh, the cute. I love the cute. There needs to be more cute.

And was it just me, or was there an implication that Inui is quite familiar with topping other people...?

Yanno, thanks to your mention of X in conjunction with Atobe yesterday, I had cracked-out dreams about Hyoutei and Seigaku playing the X roles. Or maybe that's my sickness-addled brain again. O_o;;;

...though I believe it has been mentioned elsewhere that Echizen and Kamui have a few things in common...

Does that make Tezuka into Hinoto?

I'm starting to think I should just make up a standard response to reply to all these Challenge stories with that consists of me mostly going: *___* <3<3<3 :D <3<3<3 OMGILOVETHISFIC!!!1!!! to past in every time you write one, but I think you'd get sick of me pretty quickly. ^^

But wah. The images. Inui with a more fleshed-out personality, strong and mischievious and hurt and sexy.. the same for Renji, it's just.. giving them *history* without long exposition about it, you can just *feel* what they once were and are struggling with, and it's.. it makes me happy. ^^

You know... sometimes it really annoys my inner hentai when you gloss over the hot smexing scenes... but surprisingly enough, the rest of me quickly shoves a plug in the hentai's mouth and sighs with all these wishy washy feel-good feelings.

And then you have the part of my brain that's saying, 'this is *wrong*!!! Renji's in a *relationship*--with two other boys, granted, but it's still a relationship, and this is like *cheating*!' To which my mind replies, "Yeah, sure Renji's in a relationship. With Sanada and Yukimura. And in case you failed to notice, Yuki-babe's the one calling the shots, and *he's* the one who sent Renji *to* Inui, no doubt knowing the two of them would probably end up sleeping together."

And *then* there's this *other* part that's just squealing, "The fluff! Oh, gods! How *cute* And--and--and--!!!"

And then there's the Hentai, who pops out the plug long enough to wonder aloud, "I wonder who Renji's used to topping?"--causing every other portion of me to sweatdrop before running off in multiple directions.... ['well, there's kaidoh, of course' 'oh! Kaidoh and Inui are so *cute* together!' 'And don't forget, both Fuji and Eiji are technically free now that Tezuka and Oishi are together...' 'Well, that could just mean that Fuji and Eiji are together--you *know* that's the second most popular pairing for the two of them, which is why you wanted to write that one fic, remember?' 'Don't forget about Momo and Taka-san! They're still alive, too, you know!' 'oh, hey, it could always be someone from another team...' 'yeah! yeah! Remeber in the other story it's Atobe/Tezuka and Fuji/Tachibanana' 'I'm going to kill Bunny for putting that nickname in my head... Tachibanana, indeed!']

And the insanity keeps swirling around inside my head until it hurts and all I can think of is--- "I need to follow Muscatlove's idea and just make a cute-and-paste reply to your fics that read: I loved it; it was great; write more, please."

^.^;; Okay, that's enough kissing up for now.

Hey, I had a hard enough time getting this much smut out of those two. Inui is fantastically shy. *sighs* It was a nice change to write concentrated fluff, though.

*laughs* Ah, but remember, the TezuOishi took place in a quantum bubble; I'm holding my options open.

*stretches* Right, then! On to the YukiKiri.

You put me in the edge again. Because to me, Yanagi/Yukimura/Sanada are the perfection, but...after I've read this fic...OMG! That's so unfair! Because Yanagi and Inui (God, I love Inui)are perfect together too! Now I really don't know what I want to these guys...
(ok, I know. I still want the trio together, but...geeez...it's so good to see some YanagiInui sometimes).

Yeah, you are right, but...definetly, the trio aren't any jealous, ne? Everybody there have another lover and everybody accepts pretty well.
I'm not a jealous person, but...geezz! They have to have a true confidence in the love of the other two to accept this kind of behavior.

They do, yes. But what breaks up a lot of such arrangements is an instability in the core relationship, for instance it started as a pair and added a third later, or two of them have a stronger relationship to the third than they do to each other. I'm working on the assumption that these three started out on even footing, bonding as a trio who were in a social situation likely to isolate them (jumped to regulars in their first year), and added romance as they got to the age where that starts to be an interest. No one else ever shared that initial situation with them, which should reassure all of them that no 'extra' relationship can match the depth of the core bond.

To be sure, that's logic, and logic doesn't always work with emotions, but since I like happy endings I'm going to run with it. ^_-

Hum...since the beginning they were a trio? Well, that's what I've always felt with them...the bond are with all three in the same way(ok, not exactly the same, but with the same strenght).

But, your logic explained very well their situation and I like things this way too ^_^

You aren't likely to find much more Yanagi-Inui in my stories, though, I'm afraid; those two don't talk to me together very often. Even this is part of a not-them-together context, hence the limitations on it. *wistful* It's a shame, because they really are adorable together.
